Domaine Orenga De Gaffory


In the sixties, Jean-Pierre Orenga De Gaffory chose the lands of Patrimonio to create his estate. Believing in the virtues of this terroir, the estate now covers 65 hectares, including 55 hectares in production.

Joined by his son, Henry, he will make every effort to promote this heritage to become one of the references of the Protected Denomination of Origin Patrimonio.

The marriage of the traditional culture of the vine and the mastery of the modern tools of vinification is the success of Domaine Orenga.

    expressing the purity of the Vermentinu, a wide mouth that confirms the nose: lemon, grapefruit, iodine and saline notes, freshness and minerality,
    and a pleasant finish typical of a great white wine of Corsica

    GRAPE: 100% Muscat à petits grains
    SOIL: Clay and limestone
    VENDANGES: Entirely manual, with sorting on
    Grape harvest (overmature on feet). Yields from 16 to 18HL / hectare.
    24-48h pelleting maceration - Pressing - Flotation settling - Fermentation temperatures between
    18 and 20 ° C - Mutage with wine alcohol - Aging in vats then in bottles.
    This muscat reveals complex aromas of candied fruits, citrus fruits and grapes typified by "noble grains" as well as a remarkable structure and length in the mouth,
    resulting from a growing on feet and a severe sorting during the harvest .

    GRAPE: 100% Aleatico
    SOIL: Clay and limestone
    VENDANGES: entirely manual
    VINIFICATION: 100% destemming and crushing
    100% - Vatting 15 to 20 days in total -
    Regular windings - Mutage with wine alcohol - Semi-oxidative aging - Blend of wines of different vintages (up to 10 years).
    TASTING NOTES: Its aromas of fruit, leather, cocoa, mocha and some spicy notes make it an excellent dessert wine (chocolate) but also enjoyable as an aperitif.
    All this complexity results from aging in oak barrels and an assemblage of different vintages including wines over 10 years old.

    Vatting 25 to 30 days - Fermentation temperatures between 27 and 30 ° C - Reassembly and / or regular taps - Raised in stainless steel vats, for 12 to 18 months -
    Light bonding if necessary.
    TASTING NOTES: a deep ruby ​​color, an intense cherry, blackberry and myrtle nose, with scents of maquis, a warm mouth of red fruits and spices, well integrated tannins
     with silky and menthol notes that emphasize a beautiful freshness . Its complexity and its beautiful balance, make it a very pleasant meal wine.
